Urban Yoga

Maybe that could be the new name of YZ Kepong and Plaza Damas when all the smoke clears.

I didn’t even know they had a website, but here it is now:
http://urbanyogasb.blogspot.com

Seems that a couple of YogaZone teachers are still there: Jess, Jessie, Chaniel, Au Yong, Leric, Dr Ameen, Ken, Kim, Pari etc. Quite an impressive line up indeed.

Just a thought, why don’t some of the teachers get together, invest some money and get their own yoga business?

Running a Yoga centre is one of the lowest cost business to start-up. There’s no capital equipment unlike a gym, what you need is a nice environment (most YZ outlets are already fully fitted out and just needs a little renovation to move in). And great teaching quality.

I’ve had the privilege to attend classes taught by some of the above teachers, and TRULY, I wouldn’t mind paying RM20 per class for some of your classes.

Don’t sell cheap. And you guys don’t need to advertise… all the YZ students are readily lining up to be taught by you!

Anyway just my 2 sen worth…

Do you know that Urban Yoga has occupied Kepong & Plaza Damas Centre? From next mth onwards, we have to pay $88 a mth to enjoy the class ! So frustrated…. same instructor, same place and same class but now we have to pay again despite having paid thousand of ringgit to join as life member. Feel like being cheated but do not know where to turn to – consumer right or police report ? Is anyone taking action against Yoga Group ? I heard Tan Kok Wai from Cheras is taking a legal action ? Does it include all GC member or only Cheras member ? Maybe write to TheStar to voice out all our predicament, never sign any prepaid packages !

I called to all YZ outlets last week but nobody answer the call except YZ in hartamas and they told me they are no longer Yogazone. now is Urban Yoga. They said YZ member can come over for free until end of this month and next month onwards YZ can come but gotta pay RM88 per month….so unfair to exisitng member, just like myself- jined in June 08 and still servicing the instalment payment of RM 132. Urban Yoga has bought over Hartamas and Kepong outlet….i still remembered that the YZ founder, TJ has promised member’s right and benefits remained unchange after new management take over…http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/8/6/nation/22002120&sec=nation.

I am still paying the installment but…unfortunately i cannot join the class unless i pay for another RM88. These people are really CHEATING MONEY. Yoga should bring harmony, but what are they doing right now…so SAD. Now i still have to save money every month to pay for the fee.

I call to Urbanyoga last few day. They confirmed existing YZ members will not lower the fee. Existing YZ members need to pay RM88 per month or RM25 per class.

Hi Sheron,
U may try to log in this website:

http://www.urbanyoga.com.my
The investors for Kepong, Cheras and Plaza Damas branches have take over the premises and named as Urbanyoga. All instructors remain the same. I have rejoin my yoga classes by paying RM88. No choice as they have the most flexible classes and good instructors in the market and suitable for office lady who work late.

I finally join back the urbanyoga after thinking and thinking for few months and to my surprise my body was so stiff and it was like the first time I learn yoga…hmmmm it was fun meeting the same old yogazone members in cheras where we use to laugh and so on but the only bad news I heard was a 21 young girl was molested by the teacher in Kepong?Well, honestly now a days can’t believe who’s telling the truth words now a days?Young girls like to show off their sexy breast during the yoga classes and which man can stand watching it?There was a few time I noticed some young girls not even wearing a bra?Maybe they want to be Pamela Anderson??
If that 21 years old girl tak gatal, why is she following the teacher to his house?Im sure she’s interested at that male yoga teacher too?Do you think that teacher was so stupid wanted to lose his job just because of one girl?Honestly, we can’t trust any youngs generations now a days……she ask for it and she don’t get it and she blame the teacher??The ending was now, both of them sama sama gatal and bodoh…….

Wendy:

Sorry Esther,
I do not know who’s the instructor and Im sure he don’t teach in Cheras because I did ask all our yoga friends here about those males teachers and so far coming 3 years Im at the cheras yoga centre, all the males teachers are ok including dr ameen or Pari,,maybe a bit weird sometimes but do not behave like ‘sotong hand’,everybodys say we do not know what’s going on between them?Only both of them know,if that young girl was so stupid going to a man house alone, then she’s memang bodoh and gatal…..

The yoga outlets at Damas, Kepong and Cheras has been taken over by a listed company, think its called TSM Global Bhd. Can anyone please check their background? I see that they are selling promotion packages, although the price is higher, I think its reasonable looking at the amount of classes they are offering. But please someone, tell me that they will be here to stay…

Aivee:

Feel so cheated.

I paid up my yoga fee on a monthly basis. I hurt myself and haven’t been to practice at the center for 3 weeks. When I went back on the 4th week to collect the timetable, I was informed a new management have taken over (this is the 3rd owner). And that all previously payment made for classes are no longer valid. Then only did I realised that I have to pay for a new package. No refunds made on the unused portion of my payment. A 3-month package for current members is at $129/ month, compared to $88 (which we were told will be at this price for 12 months from date of signing up). They have other packages like 6-month & 12-month as well. Forget about the monthly one which I think is around $168/month.

Now, if I pay for a 3-month subscription and then another management takes over, I’m wasting my money when what I paid cannot be refunded.

I was so excited when I first joined, 2 months ago but now I don’t feel I can trust this group of people anymore.

:( just so sad.

So sad..

cant believe this would happen in M’sia…

Are they really into Raja 8 limbs? Y they treat Yoga as a tool to earn money?

anyway,I wish everyone could find a good yoga teacher, not just looking at how difficult the asanas the can perform. But, at least with sincere and good heart..

ShapeUp:

Hi,

I wanted to shape up abit..so I’m thinking to join yoga training…. trying to google search if there’s any yoga center in Kepong area and that i found out this tsm-energy website >> http://www.tsm-energy.com/index.html
The contact no. shown is exactly the same in http://www.urbanyoga.com.my/, and their schedule looks so similar. I’m just wondering are they the same center? YogaZone ? Urbanyoga ? Energy?

btw, is there any other Yoga Center is more reliable and with good teacher in Kepong Area?

Hi Aivee, hope you are heal now, I pay 3 months to Urban Yoga in Jan, so angry they change management but never tell me early, but luckily the new managment allow me to continue my membership with no extra fee. If not I kill them leh.

The new fee sure not as cheap as last time la, but if you sign 1 year, is low as rm108 a month only, but i still scared now. This month expire, I think I will sign the 3 months rm388 package first. I still love the place and teachers there. Their schedule very good for me can find at http://www.tsm-energy.com

Energy, please don’t disappoint us. Yoga is peace.
